Claire Emily Sufrin, a daughter of Barry and Irene Sufrin of Glencoe, Ill., was engaged on Sunday at Simon’s Café in Cambridge, Mass., to Michael Adam Simon, a son of Samuel and Esther Simon of Boston, Mass. (formerly of Long Beach, Calif.).
Ms. Sufrin, 29, is a visiting lecturer in Religious Studies at Northeastern University. She graduated from Yale and will receive a doctorate in religious studies in June from Stanford.
Mr. Simon, 37, is the Associate Director of Harvard Hillel. He graduated from Stanford and received a master’s in public policy from Harvard.
The couple met at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, Israel. Mr. Simon had attempted to contact Ms. Sufrin on JDate prior to their meeting, but Ms. Sufrin ignored his online advances.
Details of the wedding were yet to be determined at press time.
